The people at Sony’s Life Space UX initiative are dedicated to high-end design objects and products that fit into users’ homes. Now, the tech giant unveiled a new combination of audio and light with the Sony Glass Sound Speaker – a completely wireless Bluetooth speaker that’s built into a soft-glowing LED lantern.
The Glass Sound Speaker was first unveiled under the name “Symphonic Light,” but whatever you call it it’s a cut above the usual portable Bluetooth audio job. The cylindrical form makes for brilliant sound quality while the speaker’s dimmable LED capabilities makes a nice touch. The design is a clean and functional one to say the least.
Sony’s LSPX-S1 Glass Sound Speaker ($799 USD) is scheduled to become available in May 2016 at the MoMA Design Store inside New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
