Often hotels, even if offering all the comforts you may need away from home, remain just a simple accommodation for the night. The Parisian C.O.Q Hotel, located on a quiet side street near Place d’Italie in 13th arrondissement, however aims to bring you not only the highest hotel services but also an intimate atmosphere of a family home. “Our hotel has been conceived in the spirit of a club run by and for its members”, the proprietor Michel Delloye mentions about his 50-room debut hotel.
Under the slogan ‘Community of Quality’, giving the boutique hotel its name, Delloye created a space where he gives his guests not only a cosy home but where he also turns C.O.Q into a diverse gathering place for friends, neighbours and travellers alike. Thus the multi-room public areas can be adapted to become a meeting room, a cinema or an exhibition space, often hosting events with artists, local businessmen and passionate craftsmen. Whereas the bright and spacious ground-floor café serves a range of French delicacies for breakfast before it turns into a lively bar in the afternoon and evening, then also providing tastings of regional products and wines.
As for the hotel design, it equally focuses on quality. Created by Pauline d’Hoop & Delphine Sauvaget from Agence Favorite, each room is slightly different, yet always features a Parisienne-typic, eclectic-chic aesthetic. Subtle colors, a rich use of noble materials such as wood, marble and brass, as well as custom-made furniture in combination with selected design pieces and sublime antiques from Paris flea markets give C.O.Q hotel the warm and relaxed ambience of a confidently stylish friend’s abode. In case you don’t want to leave after spending some time in this boutique gem, there is at least a curated shop on-site, that sells made-in-France souvenirs to take back home.
